Industry players to offer courses to undergraduates

In an initiative by Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industries (GCCI), PMC Projects (India) Pvt Ltd and Gateway NINtec Pvt will be offering courses to undergraduates of Navgujarat College here.

The courses, offered under the FOCUS (Fraternity Of Career Upgradation Scheme), are aimed at enhancing employability of the undergraduates.

"The general perception is that only MBA students are successful in the market. To change this perception and to make the undergraduate students employable, these courses have been initiated for students of Navgujarat College," Dr Malay Mahadevia, Chairman, PMC Projects (India) Pvt Ltd.

PMC Projects will be offering a six-month programme to train students in Finance & Management Accounting, Contract Management & Communication and Human Resource Management.

Meanwhile, Gateway NINtec, which intends to train the students in IT, will offer three courses viz. Diploma in Multimedia Creation, C Programming & HTML and Diploma in IT Infrastructure Management.

The three courses by Gateway NINtec will span a period of four months, two months and five months respectively.

"The objective of these courses is to provide the undergraduate students a proper exposure to industry systems and practices apart from making them employable," said Deepak Parmar, Vice President, Gateway NINtec Pvt Ltd.

The courses are expected to offer probable career options to material managers, financial executive, human resource executive, and project accountants among other things, added Mahadevia.
