XLRI to hold satellite classes in 26 cities

Jamshedpur's XLRI School of Management will now offers its post-graduate certificate programmes in business management (PGCBM) and human resource management (PGCHRM) through satellite learning centres in collaboration with Hughes DirecWay Global Education, the institute said in a release.
Fr. Casimir Raj, director, XLRI, said the satellite programme would strengthen XLRI's position as an institute that pioneered delivery of quality management education.
The 14-month programmes were designed for high potential mid-career managers who would like to study and enhance skill sets without interrupting their career.
The courses would provide them a holistic perspective of business, XLRI said.
The courses will be delivered by a team of XLRI faculty in a real-time classroom environment at 39 study centers across 26 cities of India.
The course would comprise 400 hours of interactive online learning in twice-a-week, 3-hour sessions, said the XLRI release.
This would include a campus component where the student would be exposed to seven days of intensive learning at XLRI campus in Jamshedpur.
Mid level executives and line managers would be selected for the programmes on the basis of their academic qualification, quality of work and a personal interview. The selection process would be conducted in November.
"The foray into satellite education is in response to the dynamic needs of corporate India", he said.
Ram Kumar Kakani, co-ordinator of the satellite education wing of XLRI, said the rigour and intensity of the post-graduate certificate programme being offered by XLRI made the course comparable to the best in the country.
