'Gur' traders also on strike

| The 'gur' (jaggery) traders from Uttar Pradesh, including those from the country's biggest mandi here, today began their one-day strike against the inclusion of their trade under value-added tax (VAT). |
| "Gur mandis in Muzaffarnagar, Shamli, Hapur, Khatoli, Pilibhit, Lakhimpur and Barriely would remain closed in response to the strike," Arun Khandelwal, President, Federation of Gur Traders said. |
| Traders are agitating against the inclusion of jaggery products under VAT which is excluded in other states. |
