Aeren Developers to build 10 jewellery marts by '08

The city-based, real estate major Aerens Developers will build 10 jewellery marts under the brand name 'Gold Souk' including one at Gurgaon expected to come up early next year.

"The exclusive shopping mart at Gurgaon is being built according to the specifications of World Gold Council," Rajesh Aeren, vice chairman of the group, told PTI here.

The mart at Gurgaon would cover an area of 1.8 lakh square feet and also have a food court, exhibition centre and beauty salon.

It would house the best of the global jewellery brands under one roof. Real-estate consulting group Colliers & Jardine is the project manager for 'Gold Souk'.

The mart would start operations by April, 2004, he said and added that such malls would also come up at Ludhiana, Jaipur and Bangalore in the next phase.

Kolkata, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, Ahmedabad and Kochi would also have such special jewellery marts by 2008.
