Asian markets mostly up; Hang Seng gains 234pts

Asian markets ended in the positive zone barring the Nikkei and the Taiwan Weighted. The markets gained as evidence mounted that the global economic recovery is gathering speed, giving a boost to oil and copper prices.
The Nikkei was marginally down four points to settle at 10,352.47, after closing at a 10-month high on last Friday.
The Hang Seng surged 234 points to 3,462.
The Shanghai Composite and the Straits Times advanced 50 points and 17 points to 3,462 and 2,676, respectively.
The Seoul Composite added 7 points to 1,565.
The Taiwan Weighted, however, declined 21 points to 7,056.

The Asian markets are mixed this morning.
The Nikkei has dropped after a 10-month closing high on Friday. Japan's Nikkei has dipped 29 points to 10,328. The Hang Seng, however, has aded 20 points to 20,593.
The Taiwan Weighted has slipped 32 points to 7,046. The Straits Times has shed 16 points at 2,644.
Meanwhile, Seoul Composite and Shanghai Composite are flat at 1,564 and 3,416, respectively.
