Base metals advance on firm global cues

Most of the base metals ended higher at the non-ferrous metal market here today on better stockists offtake, amid a firm trend at the London Metal Exchange (LME).
Meanwhile, nickel declined on subdued demand from consumer industries. Copper sheet cutting spurted by Rs 8 per kg to Rs 392 from Monday's closing level of Rs 384.
Brass sheet cutting and tin rose by Rs 5 per kg each to Rs 283 and Rs 1,300, as against Rs 278 and Rs 1,295 in the previous session. Brass utensils scrap moved up by Rs 3 per kg to Rs 272 from 269 yesterday.
Copper scrap heavy and copper utensils scrap edged up by Rs 2 per kg each to Rs 405 and Rs 372.
Copper cable scrap, copper armature, copper wire bar and aluminium utensils scrap also ended slightly higher by Re 1 per kg each to Rs 413, Rs 394, Rs 441 and Rs 101, respectively.
However, nickel declined by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 1,170 as against 1,175 in the previous session.
