Basmati, bajra rise on fresh buying support

Basmati rice and bajra prices firmed up to Rs 50 per quintal on the wholesale grains market today on fresh buying against decline in arrivals.

Traders said fresh buying activity against limited arrivals mainly pushed up rice basmati and bajra prices.

In the national capital, Rice basmati Pusa-1121 variety rose by Rs 50 to Rs 4,250-5,050 per quintal, while bajra gained Rs 20 to Rs 820-830 per quintal.

Following are today's quotations in Rs per quintal:

Wheat MP (deshi) 1,650-1,765, wheat dara (for mills) 1,320-1,325 chakki atta (delivery) 1,325-1,330, atta Rajdhani (10 kg) 175, Shakti bhog (10 kg) 175, Roller flour mill 690-710 (50 kg), Maida 770-800 (50 kg) and Sooji 790-810 (50 kg).

Basmati rice (Lal Quila) 9,500, Shri Lal Mahal 9,300, Super basmati rice 9,000, Basmati common 5,600-5,700, rice Pusa-(1121) 4,250-5,050, Permal raw 1,800-1,850, Permal wand 1,950-2,100, Sela 2,100-2,155 and Rice IR-8 1,670-1,695, Bajra 820-830, Jowar yellow 880-980, white 1,800-1,850, Maize 1,000-1,010, Barley (UP) 1,230-1,250 and Rajasthan 1,080-1,090.
