Chana futures down on increased supply

Chana prices declined by Rs 10, or 0.46 per cent, to Rs 2,145 per quintal in futures trade today on adequate stocks position followed by increased arrivals from producing belts.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange platform, chana for October delivery fell by Rs 10, or 0.46 per cent, to Rs 2,145 per quintal, with an open interest of just one lot.

Similarly, the commodity for delivery in November month lost Rs 9, or 0.40 per cent, to Rs 2,225 per quintal, with a business volume of one lot.

Marketmen said speculators reduced positions on subdued demand in the spot market amid increased arrivals from the producing belts mainly pulled down chana prices at futures trade.
