Chilli down 3.28% on sluggish demand
August contract loses 3.14%

Chilli futures prices today moved down by Rs 194 to Rs 5,720 per quintal as speculators reduced their positions after a fall in demand at prevailing higher levels.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chilli for delivery in September fell by Rs 194, or 3.28%, to Rs 5,720 per quintal, with an open interest of 6,230 lots.
August chilli lost Rs 178, or 3.14%, to Rs 5,490 per quintal in 5,990 lots.
Analysts said speculators reduced their positions due to a decline in demand at prevailing higher levels, which put pressure on chilli futures.
