Chilli, turmeric prices rise on fresh buying support

Red chilli and turmeric prices shot up by Rs 100 per quintal each in the national capital today on firm local demand and expected rise in overseas buying activity.
Restricted supplies from producing belts also supported the upside in prices.
Red chilli prices rose by Rs 100 to settle at Rs 6,400-11,600 per quintal.
Turmeric prices also traded higher at Rs 17,900-20,900 against previous closing of Rs 17,800-20,800 per quintal.
Traders said sentiments turned better following pick up in local and export demand, helping chilli and turmeric prices to rise on the wholesale kirana market here.
