Copper up 0.77% on spot market demand
Firm global trends raised the demand for base metals

Copper futures traded higher by Rs 3.50 to Rs 457.45 per kg today.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, the April contract rose by Rs 3.50, or 0.77% to Rs 457.45 per kg in 1,709 lots.
The February contract traded higher by Rs 3.35, or 0.74% to Rs 453.50 per kg in 17,571 lots.
Analysts said pick-up in spot market demand, firm global trend boosted optimism of an economic rebound thus raising demand for base metals. The trend influenced the market sentiment.
Meanwhile, the contract in 3 months rose 0.4% to $ 8,240 a metric tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
