Edible oils remain up on marriage season demand

Select edible oil prices rose up to Rs 20 per quintal in the wholesale oils and oilseeds market today, on rising seasonal demand amid firming global trend. A few oils in the non-edible section, too, strengthened on increased offtake by consuming industries.  

Traders said rising seasonal demand and firming trend in overseas markets mainly led to the rise in select wholesale edible oil prices. Increased offtake by consuming units helped other non-edible oil prices to trade higher, they added.

In the national capital, mustard expeller oil (Dadri) gained Rs 20 to Rs 6,020 per quintal on local demand.

Mustard pakki and kachi ghani oils traded higher by Rs 5 each to Rs 775-930 and Rs 930-1,030 per tin, respectively. Cottonseed mill delivery oil (Haryana) was also seen in demand and advanced by Rs 20 to Rs 5,770 per quintal.

 

In the non-edible section, linseed oil gained Rs 50 to Rs 4,650 per quintal on fresh paint industries enquiries. 

Neem oil too traded higher by Rs 50 to Rs 4,100-4,200 per quintal on increased offtake by soap units.
