India allows edible oil exports until Oct 2011

India will allow exports of edible oils in small packets until next October, when the current marketing year ends, a government statement said on Monday.
The exports shall be permitted in branded packs of up to 5 kilograms, subject to a limit of 10,000 tonnes, the statement on the trade ministry's website showed.
India, the world's top edible oil importer, exports small quantities of groundnut, sunflower and rapeseed oils to cater to expatriate demand.
