Jeera futures up on spot demand

Press Trust of India New Delhi

Jeera futures prices rose by Rs 103 to Rs 13,871 per quintal today, as traders created fresh positions, driven by pick-up in spot market demand.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for delivery in December rose by Rs 103, or 0.75%, to Rs 13,871 per quintal, with an open interest of 13,068 lots.

Similarly, the spice for delivery in January gained Rs 101, or 0.72%, to Rs 14,160 per quintal, with a trading volume of 14,109 lots.

Analysts said fresh buying by traders due to pick-up in spot market demand mainly helped jeera prices to trade higher at futures market.
