Press Trust of India New Delhi

Lead continued its weakness in futures trading today with prices falling byh another 0.31 per cent to Rs 113.40 per kg as speculators engaged in reducing their positions ahead of expiry.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange platform, lead for delivery in December fell by 35 paise, or 0.31 per cent, to Rs 113.40 per kg, with a business turnover of just one lot.

The metal for October delivery shed 10 paise, or 0.09 per cent to Rs 111.50 per kg, with trade volume of five lots.

Analysts said squaring-up of positions in view of approaching monthly expiry, mainly kept pressure on lead futures prices.
