Lead futures decline on weak metal trend

Press Trust of India New Delhi

In range-bound trade, lead futures fell by 0.45% to Rs 121.40 per kg as speculators offloaded positions, tracking a weak trend in other base metals.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in April fell by 55 paise, or 0.45%, to Rs 121.40 per kg, with a business turnover of 838 lots.

The metal for delivery in May also edged lower by Rs 50 paise, or 0.41%, to Rs 121.10 per kg, with a turnover of 54 lots.

Market analysts said a weak trend in the copper and other base metals at the London Metal Exchange and subdued domestic demand, led to a fall in lead futures prices.
