Lead futures shed 0.17% in range-bound trade

Press Trust of India New Delhi

In range-bound thin trade, lead futures today fell by 0.17 per cent to Rs 120.65 per kg, as speculators reduced their positions, driven by a weak demand at domestic spot markets.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, lead for January delivery fell by 20 paise, or 0.17 per cent, to Rs 120.65 per kg, with a business turnover of 1,115 lots.

Similarly, the metal for delivery in February, shed 15 paise, or 0.12 per cent to Rs 121.35 per kg, with a business volume of 73 lots.

Market analysts said offloading of positions by speculators, triggered by weak demand at the domestic spot markets, kept pressure on the lead futures prices here.
