Lead strengthens in futures trade

Lead strengthened by 0.30% to Rs 117.20 per kg in futures trading today on bargain buying by speculators amid a better trend overseas.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in March traded marginally higher by 35 paise, or 0.30%, to Rs 117.20 per kg, with a business turnover of 55 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in April gained 30 paise, or 0.26%, to Rs 117.30 per kg, with a business volume of 40 lots.
Market analysts said besides a firming trend in copper at the London Metal Exchange, pick-up in spot demand also influenced lead futures prices here.
