Lead up 0.5% on strong spot demand, overseas cues

Metal for delivery in current month also rose by 0.45%

Lead futures prices today rose to Rs 135.20 per kg on rising spot demand amid a firming trend overseas.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in January traded 70 paise, or 0.52%, higher at Rs 135.20 per kg, with a turnover of 22 lots.

The metal for delivery in current month also rose by 60 paise, or 0.45%, to trade at Rs 134 per kg, in a business turnover of 435 lots.

Marketmen said besides strong domestic demand from battery-makers, a firm trend at the London Metal Exchange influenced lead prices at futures trade here.
