Markets steady; banks firm, tech stocks weak

The NSE Nifty is up 15 points at 3,962.

HDFC Bank has zoomed 8.3% to Rs 1,037. HDFC has soared 7.3% to Rs 2,027. ICICI Bank has surged 6.6% to Rs 588.

DLF has rallied over 3% to Rs 441. Reliance Infrastructure has gained 2.8% at Rs 829.

BHEL and Cipla have advanced 2.5% each to Rs 1,490 and Rs 217, respectively.

NTPC and SBI are up around 2% each at Rs 168 and Rs 1,250, respectively.

Satyam has slumped 9% to Rs 377. Wipro has plunged over 5% to Rs 360. Infosys and TCS have dropped 3% each to Rs 1,532 and Rs 756, respectively.

 

Tata Steel has shed 3% at Rs 589. Ranbaxy has slipped 2.7% to Rs 440.

ACC has declined 2.3% to Rs 532. Hindalco and Hindustan Unilever are down 1% each at Rs 138 and Rs 218, respectively.
