Mentha oil spurts 2.74% on strong demand
Limited arrivals from Chandousi in UP supports prices

Mentha oil prices spurted by Rs 35.60 to Rs 1,335 per kg in futures trading today as speculators enlarged their positions, driven by strong industrial and export demand in the spot market against limited arrivals from Chandousi in Uttar Pradesh.
At the MCX, mentha oil for delivery in June spurted by Rs 35.60, or 2.74%, to Rs 1,335 per kg in business turnover of 46 lots.
The May contract jumped up by Rs 27.30, or 2.06%, to Rs 1,395.10 per kg in 158 lots.
Marketmen said strong industrial and export demand, tight supplies from Chandouisi in Uttar Pradesh mainly led an upsurge in mentha oil prices at futures trade.
