Mentha oil up 2% on industrial demand

Lower arrivals influence prices

Mentha oil prices moved up by Rs 26.80 to Rs 1,346.90 per kg in futures trade today as traders created fresh positions influenced by the pick up in industrial demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for September delivery gained Rs 26.80, or 2%, to Rs 1,346.90 per kg, with a trading volume of 254 lots.

The August contract rose by Rs 10.50, or 0.79%, to Rs 1,327.50 per kg in 466 lots.

Marketmen said a firming trend in the spot market following firm demand from consuming industries and lower arrivals from key producing regions pushed up mentha oil prices in futures trade.
