Rice basmati rises on retailers demand

In restricted activity, rice basmati prices firmed up to Rs 100 per quintal on the wholesale grains market today on pick up in retailers demand.
Elsewhere, other grains traded in a tight range in restricted activity and settled around previous levels. Traders said pick up in retailers demand, mainly led to rise in wholesale rice basmati prices.
In the rice section, basmati common prices rose by Rs 100 to Rs 5,600-5,700, while Pusa-1121-variety gained Rs 50 to Rs 4,650-5,250 per quintal.
