Robusta Parchments attract good export interest

Robusta Parchments attracted good export interest with prices around last week levels at the Indian Coffee Trade Association (ICTA) auction.

Domestic roasters' interest was poor. According to the auctioners, Carritt Moran and Company, Arabica Plantations were difficult to sell at current asking prices but domestic coffee buyers were active on the secondary grades.

The auction saw 448 tonne on offer for sale (last week 423 tonne) 70 tonne was sold. Arabica comprised of 159 tonne, Robusta 289 tonne.

Following are the prices quoted for grades in Rs/50kg:

Arabica varieties: Arabica Plantation A Rs 5,150 (1,000 kg), Arabica Cherry PB Rs 3,750 (160 kg), Arabica Cherry AB Rs 4,000 (1,750 kg), Arabica Cherry BBB Rs 2,700 (3,750 kg).

Robusta varieties: Robusta Parchment PB Rs 3,100 (688 kg), Robusta Parchment AA Rs 3,417 (5,651 kg), Robusta Parchment AB Rs 3,304 (5,554 kg), Robusta Parchment C Rs 2,934 (11,604 kg), Robusta Parchment BBB Rs 2,794 (5,991 kg), Robusta Cherry AB Rs 2,900 (4,500 kg) and Robusta Cherry C Rs 2,775 (1,317 kg).
