Sensex down 231pts; Bharti sheds 5%

The NSE Nifty is down 66 points at 5,092.

Bharti Airtel has plunged 5% to Rs 808.

Reliance Infrastructure, Jaiprakash Associates and Hindalco have tumbled 4% each to Rs 1,396, Rs 259 and Rs 196, respectively.

BHEL and NTPC have slipped 3% each to Rs 1,742 and Rs 186, respectively.

DLF and HDFC Bank have dropped 2.4% each at Rs 634 and Rs 1,467, respectively.

TCS, ICICI Bank, Wipro and SBI have declined around 2% each at Rs 954, Rs 921, Rs 496 and Rs 1,671, respectively.

Ambuja Cements, Larsen & Toubro, Reliance and ONGC are down over 1% each.

 

On the other side, Infosys has gained 1.4% to Rs 1,896. Satyam and Tata Motors are up 0.8% each to Rs 492 and Rs 675, respectively.
