Sensex ends up 13pts at 14,501

The Sensex opened tad (nine points) lower at 14,479, but soon bounced into the positive zone. Steady buying mainly in Bharti Airtel, BHEL and Tata Steel saw the index rally to a high of 14,560 - up 81 points from the day's open.

Profit-booking towards the end saw the Sensex pare gains and end on a flat note at 14,501 - up 13 points.
