Sensex ends up 235pts at 16,480

The Sensex opened with a positive gap of 212 points at 16,456 on positive cues from the global markets.

The index moved in a range of 174 points between 16,397 (low) and 16,571 (high) before finally settling (provisional) with a gain of 235 points at 16,480.

The NSE Nifty ended (provisional) with a gain of 68 points at 4,956.
