Sensex recovers partially, down 100pts; ONGC surges 4%

The Sensex after opening 33 points lower at 10,305, slipped to a low of 10,116 - down 222 points - in early trades. However, the index has now recovered partially and is now down 108 points at 10,229.

Tata Motors has plunged over 5% to Rs 181. Sterlite has shed 4.5% at Rs 282.

Reliance Infrastructure has slumped over 4% to Rs 513. HDFC, Hindalco and Satyam have tumbled around 3.5% each to Rs 1,822, Rs 61 and Rs 290, respectively.

Mahindra & Mahindra and Tata Steel have slipped nearly 3% each to Rs 373 and Rs 219, respectively.

Reliance and ACC have dropped 2.5% each to Rs 1,400 and Rs 499, respectively.

 

DLF and Bharti Airtel have declined around 2% each to Rs 247 and Rs 674, respectively.

ONGC has surged over 4% to Rs 740. SBI has rallied 2.6% to Rs 1,273.

Tata Power and Ranbaxy have gained over 2% each at Rs 195 and Rs 709, respectively.

ITC has moved up 1.6% to Rs 161, and Hindustan Unilever has added 1.3% to Rs 241.
