Sensex slips deeper into red; Tata Steel sheds 5%

The Sensex has slipped deeper into red and is now down 148 points at 14,752.

Sterlite has slumped over 10% to Rs 517. Tata Steel has plunged 4.5% to Rs 539.

Tata Power has tumbled 3% to Rs 1,054. ICICI Bank has shed 2.6% at Rs 694.

Reliance Infrastructure and Reliance have dropped 2.3% each to Rs 1,046 and Rs 2,095, respectively.

HDFC Bank has dropped 2% to Rs 1,266. Maruti has declined 1.7% to Rs 696.

BHEL and Bharti Airtel are down 1% each at Rs 1,727 and Rs 827, respectively.

ACC has moved up 1.3% to Rs 604.

 

Out of 2,552 stocks traded so far, 1,484 have declined, 972 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.
