Sensex down 114pts; Tata Steel drops 3%

The Sensex is now down 114 points at 14,787.

Sterlite has slumped 10.5% to Rs 515. Tata Steel has plunged over 3% to Rs 546.

Tata Power has shed 2.8% at Rs 1,057. ICICI Bank has dropped 2% to Rs 698.

Reliance Infrastructure and Maruti have slipped 1.7% each to Rs 1,052 and Rs 696, respectively.

HDFC Bank and Reliance have declined around 1.5% each to Rs 1,274 and Rs 2,109, respectively.

BHEL and Bharti Airtel are down 1% each at Rs 1,730 and Rs 828, respectively.

ACC has gained 1.5% at Rs 606. Hindalco and Wipro have advanced over 1% each to Rs 127 and Rs 439, respectively.

 

The market breadth is negative - out of 2,494 stocks traded so far, 1,331 have declined, 1,058 have advanced and 105 are unchanged.
