Sensex recovers partially; Sterlite slumps 9%

On global cues, the Sensex opened 183 points lower at 14,718. The index touched a low of 14,715, and has since recovered partially. The index is now down 104 points at 14,797.

Sterlite has slumped 8.5% to Rs 527. ICICI Bank has tumbled over 2% to Rs 697.

Tata Steel has dropped 1.8% to Rs 555. HDFC Bank and Reliance have slipped 1.5% each to Rs 1,273 and Rs 2,110, respectively.

Maruti and Mahindra & Mahindra are down 1% each at Rs 700 and Rs 577, respectively.

Ranbaxy has moved up 1.6% to Rs 464, and ACC has added 1.4% to Rs 605.

 

DLF and Wipro have advanced over 1% each to Rs 510 and Rs 439, respectively.
