Sensex up 112pts; Bharti, Hindalco gain 2%

The Sensex is now up 112 points at 11,035.

Bharti Airtel, Hindalco and Ranbaxy have surged around 2% each to Rs 408, Rs 163 and Rs 399, respectively.

Bajaj Auto, Tata Steel and HDFC have advanced 1.7% each to Rs 2,620, Rs 518 and Rs 1,247, respectively.

Reliance Energy and TCS have added 1.5% each to Rs 462 and Rs 958, respectively.

BHEL, Infosys, Dr.Reddy's, Satyam, NTPC, Gujarat Ambuja, Wipro, Tata Motors, Reliance Communications, Grasim, Reliance and Cipla are the other smart gainers.

The market breadth is positive - out of 1,891 stocks traded so far, 1,191 have advanced, 646 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
