Sensex up 24pts; breadth turns -ve

| The Sensex is now up 24 points at 13,961. Hindalco has surged over 2% to Rs 179. Satyam has spurted 1.5% to Rs 468. Ranbaxy, Infosys, ICICI Bank and HDFC Bank have advanced over 1% each to Rs 390, Rs 2,267, Rs 873 and Rs 1,096, respectively. Reliance Energy and Tata Motors have slipped 1.5% each to Rs 544 and Rs 869, respectively. Reliance Communications, Dr.Reddy's and Larsen & Toubro are down 1% each at Rs 453, Rs 758 and Rs 1,449, respectively. The market breadth has turned negative - out of 2,454 stocks traded so far, 1,374 have declined, 1,005 have advanced and 75 are unchanged. |
