Sensex up 83pts; SBI slips 2%

The Sensex is now up 83 points at 11,005.

Tata Steel has surged 2.3% to Rs 521. Bharti Airtel has gained 2% at Rs 406.

Hindalco, Ranbaxy, TCS, Bajaj Auto and HDFC have moved up over 1.5% each to Rs 163, Rs 399, Rs 959, Rs 2,614 and Rs 1,244, respectively.

SBI has dropped 1.7% to Rs 816.

The market breadth is positive - out of 2,047 stocks traded so far, 1,197 have advanced, 785 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
