Sensex up 99pts in early trades

The Sensex opened 41 points higher at 16,255, and touched a high of 16,329 in early trades. The index is now up 99 points at 16,313.

DLF has surged nearly 3% to Rs 403. Sterlite has rallied 2.5% to Rs 737.

Sun Pharma annd Mahindra & Mahindra have advanced around 1.5% each to Rs 1,224 and Rs 843, respectively.

SBI, Reliance Communications, Jaiprakash Associates, Tata Power and Tata Steel are up over 1% each.
