Sensex up over 300pts; DLF, ICICI Bank zoom 9%

The Sensex continues to display strength and is now up 321 points at 8,665.

ICICI Bank and DLF have zoomed 8.5% each to Rs 309 and Rs 148, respectively.

Tata Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra and Sterlite have surged around 8% each to Rs 158, Rs 356 and Rs 283, respectively.

Tata Power has rallied over 7% to Rs 650. Tata Steel and HDFC have gained 6% each at Rs 165 and Rs 1,361, respectively.

Reliance Infrastructure and TCS moved up around 5.5% each to Rs 466 and Rs 501, respectively.

Infosys, Larsen & Toubro, Reliance Communications and Reliance are up around 5% each.

 

NTPC, however, has slipped 1.7% to Rs 171.

The market breadth is fairly positive - out of 2,395 stocks traded so far, 1,471 advanced, 843 declined and the rest are unchanged.
