Sluggish demand drags down sugar prices

Sugar prices continues to dip at the the Vashi wholesale market here today due to fall in demand from stockists and bulk consumers amid selling from the mills. 

Small sugar (S-30) slipped by Rs 1/10 per quintal to Rs 2,582/2,641 from yesterday's closing level of Rs 2,592/2,642.   

Medium sugar (M-30) also lost Rs 10 per quintal to Rs 2,646/2,791 as compared to Rs 2,656/2,791 yesterday.

The following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal), with the previous rates given in brackets:

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 2,582/2,641 (Rs 2,592/2,642)
Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 2,646/2,791 (Rs 2,656/2,791)
