Small sugar recovers on mild demand

Small sugar prices recovered modestly at the Vashi wholesale sugar market here today on mild demand from retailers.   

Meanwhile, medium sugar variety moved down owing to poor consumer offtake amidst good supply positions.   

Small sugar quality (S-30) gained by Rs 5 per quintal to Rs 2,801/2,856 from yesterday's closing level of Rs 2,801 /2,851.

However, medium sugar (M-30) eased by Rs 5 per quintal to Rs 2,841/2,916 as against Rs 2,846/2,916 previously.    

The following are today's closing rates per quintal, with the previous rates in brackets:  

Small sugar (S-30) quality Rs 2,801/2,856 (Rs 2,801/ 2,851) and medium sugar (M-30) quality Rs 2,841/2,916 (Rs 2,846/2,916)
