Small sugar weakens on lower demand

Small sugar prices moved down at the Vashi wholesale sugar market here today due to reduced offtake from retailers and bulk consumers amidst ample stock positions.

Meanwhile, medium sugar variety showed a mixed pattern of trading owing to alternate bouts of buying and selling. Small sugar quality (S-30) declined by Rs 10 per quintal to Rs 2,801/2,851 from overnight closing level of Rs 2,811/2,861.  

Medium sugar (M-30) were quoted at Rs 2,846/2,916 per quintal as compared to Rs 2,841/2,921 yesterday.
