Sugar and wheat up, maida prices down

Prices of sugar and wheat went up while maida declined and eleven other commodities remained unaltered in the wholesale foodgrains market here today.

Sugar and wheat went up by Rs 40 and Rs 50 per quintal each to touch Rs 2,760 and Rs 1,950 from the previous rate of Rs 2,220 and Rs 1,900 respectively.  

Maida (90 Kg)declined by Rs 50 to Rs 1,750 from Rs 1,800. Thoor dal, urad dal, moong dal, gram dal and sooji traded at the previous rates.

Following are today's rates (per quintal):

Thoor dal Rs 6,200, Urad dal Rs 6,300, Moong dal Rs 5,800, Gram dal Rs 2,950, Sugar Rs 2,760, Wheat Rs 1,950, Maida (90 kg) Rs 1,750 and sooji (90 kgs) Rs 1,900
