Sugar ends mixed in thin trade

Sugar prices displayed a mixed pattern of trading at the Vashi wholesale market here today due to uneven demand and supply coupled with alternate bouts of buying and selling.

Medium sugar (M-30) moved up by Rs 10 per quintal to Rs 2,681/2,841 from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 2,671/ 2,841.  

Small sugar (S-30) however, slipped by Rs 10 per quintal to Rs 2,626/2,651 as against Rs 2,626/2,661 last weekend.

The following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal), with the previous rates given in brackets: 

Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 2,681/2,841 (Rs 2,671/2,841)
Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 2,626/2,651 (Rs 2,626/2,661)
