Sugar prices weak on low demand

Sugar prices weakened at the Vashi wholesale sugar market here today on subdued demand from stockists and retailers amid steady selling pressure from the mills.

Small sugar quality (S-30) fell by Rs 5/16 per quintal to Rs 2,786/2,835 from the last Saturday's closing level of Rs 2,791/2,851.

Medium sugar (M-30) also moved down by Rs 5 per quintal to Rs 2,826/2,901 as compared to Rs 2,831/2,901 previously.
