Sensex in red; Tata Steel sheds 5%

The NSE Nifty is down 21 points at 4,456.

TCS has slumped 6.6% to Rs 802, and Infosys has plunged over 5% to Rs 1,521. Satyam has tumbled nearly 3% to Rs 367, and Wipro has shed 1.7% at Rs 401.

Tata Steel has dropped 4.7% to Rs 636. Reliance Communications has slipped 3.3% to Rs 508.

SBI and BHEL have declined 2.7% each to Rs 1,502 and Rs 1,725, respectively.

NTPC and Larsen & Toubro are down 1.8% each to Rs 187 and Rs 2,718, respectively.

Maruti and DLF have surged 3.5% each to Rs 628 and Rs 512, respectively. ONGC has rallied over 3% to Rs 1,027.

 

Reliance Infrastructure has moved up over 3% to Rs 1,046.
Mahindra & Mahindra and Reliance have gained 2% each at Rs 565 and Rs 2,309, respectively.
