Wockhardt rebounds on stake hike by FIIs

FIIs holdings in the company has increased to 9.07% in March 2013 quarter from 6.80% at the end of December 2012 quarter.

Wockhardt has rallied 7.5% to Rs 1,825 in noon deals after the company said that the foreign institutional investors (FIIs) bought an additional 2.27 percentage point stake in the company in January-March quarter.

The stock opened at Rs 1,700 and has seen a combined 568,659 shares changing hands on the counter till 1308 hours on NSE and BSE. The stock has fallen 6% fall in past four trading sessions on NSE.

FIIs have bought 2.5 million shares worth of Rs 450 crore during the recently concluded quarter.

FIIs holdings in the company have touched a record high at 9.07% in March 2013 quarter from 6.80% at the end of December 2012 quarter, the shareholding pattern data shows. FIIs held 1.32% stake at the beginning of the calendar year 2012.

The stock has appreciated by almost seven-fold from Rs 276 on December 30, 2011 compared to 23% rise in benchmark Nifty.

Meanwhile, bodies’ corporate holding in the company has declined to 1.40% from 2.24% and of individual shareholders to 12.06% from 12.82% during the recently concluded quarter.
