Former Punjab chief minister and Congress Party candidate from Amritsar Captain Amarinder Singh on Friday warned state Revenue Minister Bikram Singh Majithia not to criminalise politics in the region.

Addressing impressive public meetings in the villages of Nath Di Khui and Turpai, in Majitha assembly segment, he advised Bikram Singh Majithia, who is also the local MLA, not to cross his limits, as Punjab was not West Bengal or Haryana.

He said the Akalis were trying to copy the Communist model. People, he said, would not tolerate criminalisation.

"The signs of revolt against him (Majithia) are already building up," Singh claimed, adding, April 30 will prove to be the beginning of the end for Majithia.

Singh promised to ensure that Bikram Singh Majithia would be brought to justice for his alleged criminal activities, even if it meant to going right up to the Supreme Court.
