Assam: 5 Rohingyas arrested from Guwahati Railway station

Five Rohingyas were arrested by (RPF) at here on Tuesday.

Talking to ANI, said, "The first apprehended two boys and a girl and based on the interrogation, two other boys were arrested. All of the arrested Rohingyas aged between 19 to 22 years."

"The arrested Rohingyas have been identified as Makakmyayum Sahenas, Mohammad Zubar, Kamal Hussain, Nurul Hakim and Kalimula," Daimari added.

The further said, "During the investigation, it has come to light that they were earlier arrested by Police in 2018."

"They were trying to obtain a certificate of Reguee Status from (UNHCR) and for the same reason they were going to New when they were caught today," the RPF added.

Speaking to ANI, said, "I used to live in and I am a Rohingya but after clashes there, we came to through Manipur-border."

Zuber further said, "We have been living in for the past one year. I was earlier arrested in and were put in jail for 11 months...When we were released from jail, we were advised to take a refugee card from "

"I was caught in Guwahati while I was going to to meet officials of UNHCR to take refugee card.," he added.
