Swiss tennis ace Roger Federer had reportedly started a fundraising event on Wednesday with a few rallies with Australian legend Rod Laver.

The 75-year-old Laver, who was dressed in the cream shorts and vest of a bygone era, shot a few backhands before going to the net to mix it up with some volleys against the 17-time Major winner, who is preparing for next week's Australian Open.

According to Sport24, Federer, who burst into tears after receiving the Australian Open winner's trophy from Laver in 2006, has expressed his reverence at playing with Laver, saying that the racket feels a 'little heavy' right now.

Laver twice completed the Australian Grand Slam and had the centre court at Melbourne Park named in his honour, the report added.
