Bangladesh wins one-day series against Kiwis following 'easy' second ODI victory

New Zealand's losing streak in Bangladesh showed no sign of abating after they lost the second one-day international against the hosts by 40 runs in Dhaka on Thursday.

With the win, Bangladesh has won the three-game series against the tourists 2-0.

Chasing the target of 248, New Zealand faltered on 207 in the 47th over due to the wicket-taking spree of Bangladeshi bowlers Sohag Gazi and Mashrafe Mortaza, both of who claimed three wickets each, along with part-time spinner Mominul Haque, who took two scalps.

According to Stuff.co.nz, the victory was Bangladesh's sixth straight win over New Zealand after the 4-0 drubbing in 2010.

 

The report mentioned that former captain Ross Taylor top-scored for New Zealand with 45, with his teammates Corey Anderson making 37 and Kyle Mills remaining unbeaten on 27, while Bangladeshi opener Tamim Iqbal top-scored for his side with 58 off 86 balls that included five boundaries and one six.

Bangladesh won the rain-disrupted first match on Tuesday, the report added.
