A new book, titled 'Erotic Lives of the Superheroes', has portrayed Batman and his sidekick, Robin, as a squabbling gay couple, whose sex life has vanished altogether.
According to The Independent, Italian author Marco Mancassola's novel revolves around the erotic obsessions of Mister Fantastic, Batman, Mystique and Superman, whose heroic abilities are dulled by the aging process, the Washington Times reported.
Mancassola asserted to the UK publication that Batman has always had a very dark side.
He said that it shouldn't come as a shock that his version of Batman's character indulges in weird forms of fetishism and extreme sex.
He also admitted to the publication that comic book fans wouldn't be able to forgive him for what he has done to their beloved characters.
