People took to the streets and burnt an effigy of the BBC on Thursday in protest against the documentary titled 'India's Daughter'.
"This is a warning to the BBC that they should not air the Nirbhaya documentary," said a protester, Acharya Pandit Rajendra Trivedi.
"This is an insult to women and we strongly condemn it, and I appeal to the Prime Minister and Home Minister to hang the guilty," he added.
Meanwhile, Delhi Police Commissioner B.S. Bassi said they will take steps to ensure that it is not broadcast anymore.
"We are going to take action, whatever is required will be done under the law," he added.
Earlier, Home Minister Rajnath Singh had informed the Rajya Sabha that he will take all steps necessary to stop the telecast of the documentary on the December 2012 Nirbhaya gang rape case.
The documentary includes an interview of Mukesh Singh, one of the six males convicted for the crime.
